Headers

Today we are going to to talk about different kinds of mufflers, long tube and short tube headers. First we are going to talk about how long and short tube headers. Headers are the first stop for exhaust gases on the way out of your engine. The two styles of headers boost performance at different RPMs. You will figure out how to choose the correct one that benefits your ride. Long tube headers are the best at building horsepower from mid to high RPMs. They also do the best job in building torque from mid to high RPMs. Long tube headers are best for street machines but they sacrifice low RPM power that many drivers need.



Now its time to talk about short tube headers. Shorty headers produce more horsepower and torque from the idle to the mid RPM range. These headers are perfect for the daily commute or hauling something up a hill. Sometimes short tubes can be easier to install. 



Take some time to think about the type of driving you do. Guys looking for an efficient exhaust system and killer acceleration are probably running bigger engines. If your running a smaller engine or lighter ride, a shorty setup is what you need.
